Asakusa
You came to see Sensoji Shrine. Now see the rest of it! Asakusa isn’t just the Thunder Gate and the shrine grounds. Visit the nearby Hanayashiki, the oldest amusement park in Japan. See the traditional knife-makers of Kappbashi-dori. Take a ride down the Sumida River in one of the tour boats at the pier. Or come in May for the Sanja Matsuri, or the annual Brazilian carnival!
Plenty of restaurants, bars, and other entertainments await. You may even see one of the few remaining geisha traveling between one of the many theaters of the district! For lighter entertainment, look for the Tori no Iru bird cafe and enter the parakeet room.
Asakusa is a great place to relax after a long day of sightseeing. Eat, drink, and be merry!
